Level up your triple-threat skills with professional training — and shine in a full-scale production on the iconic bergenPAC MainStage!
Whether you're just starting out or ready for your next big role, we’ve got something for every age:
🎭 Kids Series (Ages 6–9)
🎭 Junior Series (Ages 9–14)
🎭 High School Series (Ages 14+)

Performers start by learning the basics of dance, acting, singing, and audition techniques to prepare to audition in mid-fall for their roles in that year's production. After being cast, students participate in weekly rehearsals while honing their acting, singing, and dance skills.

Students explore all aspects of theater production, including performance, props, costumes, make-up, and design. This experience helps build self-confidence, improve literacy, nurture empathy, encourage imagination, teamwork, critical thinking, self-discipline, and community awareness.

Additionally, students enjoy a unique opportunity to collaborate with bergenPAC’s professional technical crew, providing an invaluable experience to work alongside industry experts and deepening their understanding of the theatrical arts.

Showtime welcomes students of all skill levels and serves as an outstanding launching pad for those aspiring to pursue a professional performance career.

Not a singer? No problem!
Our bergenPAC Players Series is perfect for students who want to act without the music. Join us this fall and spring for powerful straight plays performed in our intimate black box studio at the Performing Arts School.

RENT: A letter to Parents

Dear Families,

We are excited to share that this spring, our students will be working on RENT School Edition as part of our performing arts programming.

We recognize that the original Broadway production of RENT addresses mature real world themes. RENT School Edition is a thoughtfully adapted, age appropriate version created specifically for young performers and audiences. This version has been carefully revised to focus on core values such as friendship, community, creativity, resilience, and finding one’s voice, while removing or softening content that is not suitable for children.

At bergenPAC, through our School Time Series, we are committed to presenting meaningful material that not only builds artistic skill, but also helps educate students and families on real life topics in a responsible and supportive way. Theater has long been a powerful tool for learning, empathy, and self expression, and we believe in introducing students to culturally significant works through a lens that is developmentally appropriate and guided by professional educators.

Throughout the rehearsal and performance process, our teaching artists emphasize:

  • Age appropriate storytelling and language

  • Emotional awareness and empathy

  • Collaboration, ensemble work, and confidence building

  • A safe, supportive environment for all students

We are proud to offer students the opportunity to engage with important stories while continuing to grow as artists and individuals. If you have any questions about the production or our approach, we welcome open communication and are happy to discuss further.

Thank you for your continued trust and support of bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School.
