ENGLEWOOD, NJ — This summer, bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School lights up bergenPAC’s Taub Stage with the beloved Broadway classic Annie, running July 31 through August 2. Now in its 15th year, bergenPAC’s celebrated summer musical program has become a cornerstone of the region’s arts scene, known for delivering full-scale productions while training the next generation of performers.

From past standout productions to this year’s highly anticipated Annie, the program has built a reputation for excellence, discipline, and opportunity. Each summer, students take part in a rigorous, pre-professional rehearsal process that mirrors the demands of the industry, culminating in performances on bergenPAC’s mainstage.

Based on the iconic comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie is a Tony Award-winning musical filled with unforgettable songs like “Tomorrow” and a story that continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. The production is directed by Alexander R. Diaz, with choreography by Kirsten Lane and music direction by Glenn Gordon.

“Bringing Annie to bergenPAC’s Taub Stage has been a creative venture I’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said Diaz. “It’s a timeless story, and the music stays with you for days. This production is also a wonderful opportunity to introduce first-time theatergoers to a high-caliber musical without the hassle of going to Broadway. And with ticket prices that are extremely accessible, it truly opens the door for everyone to experience live theater.”

bergenPAC’s Performing Arts School has long served as a launching ground for young artists pursuing careers in the industry. Alumni include Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler, as well as Vince Ermita, who got his start at bergenPAC before performing on Broadway; Levi Blaise Coleman, currently touring nationally in Beauty and the Beast; and Felice Kakaletris, who appeared as a featured orphan in NBC’s televised production of Annie. Many more students have gone on to pursue the arts as their livelihoods, reflecting the school’s deep impact and commitment to excellence.
