beyondSTAGE is a Master Class and Artist Talk Back Series where students experience workshops with performing artists. Students learn about the arts from industry professionals including song artists, dancers, musicians, managers, designers, and others in the entertainment field. Students see productions at bergenPAC and then attend a Master Class/Artist Talk Back prior to or after the performance.
The Master Class Series is opened to all ages depending on the touring artsit performing at bergenPAC. Master classes will run anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours.
What are master classes?
They are formal workshops provided by the education department in collaboration with the artist who appears on the bergenPAC mainstage. Master classes operate as studio based intensives where the artist speak candidly to the students to further the development of their craft. The classes offer first hand experience in craft improvement and enhanced knowledge of the theater, dance, music and production. Artist who have partcipated in the Master Class Series include, Itzhak Perlman, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Pilobolus, Theater Works, Lewis Black, Pink Floyd Expierience , Joshua Bell and many more!
Artist Talk Back Consists of meeting the artist 15 to 30 min. before or after the show. Students have asked the artist questions about their craft, technique, preparation, etc. Dionne Warwick, Sinbad, Benise, Robert Wuhl, Cirque Mechanic and others have participated in this program.
The Performing Arts School
Features a series of classes for students ages 2 1/2 months to 21 years old.
